Global Internship Program

The global internship program is the most intense learning experience that AIESEC offers and it's facilitated by our entire global network. Each year, we provide 10.000 students and recent graduates with the challenging opportunity to live and work in a foreign country, in the areas of management, information technology, education and development.

If you want to gain valuable working experience abroad, work on developing local communities and experience a completely different culture, the Global Exchange Program is perfect for you.

There are 4 kinds of internships:

• Management internships - internships in various organizations, including work in marketing, selling, finance, management, event organizing, business administration, human resource, tourisms and other backgrounds required by companies
• Technical internships - internships for the students with preparation in IT and programming, engineering, mechanics, construction and other technical backgrounds
• Development internships - voluntary services in an NGO abroad and in communities, social work and other tasks related
• Educational internships - enable you to teach as a volunteer or as an employee, from kinder garden children up to professional trainings in companies

Duration: from 6 weeks up to maximum 18 months

For this year AIESEC Austria established exchange cooperation with several countries, which increases the chance to quickly find a suitable internship especially in these regions. This semester our focus regions are:

• Central and Southern Africa: Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana
• Southern Continental Asia and Asia Pacific: Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia
• Western Europe and North America: Portugal, Canada, Iceland, Czech Republic, Italy
• North Africa & Gulf Region: Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, Iran
• Eastern Europe and Western Asia: Macedonia, Cyprus, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Kazakhstan
• Central and South America: Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama

Next Steps

Here you have a rough overview of how the entire internship-process looks like, as you can see – it’s quite simple!

1. Become member of AIESEC – for more information on application and selection process, click HERE

2. Preparation – attend the cultural preparation seminar at our National Induction Conference in Tirol (11.-14. November 2010).

3. Matching – after paying the access fee your profile will be added to our online database and you will be trained on how to search for internships that suit your profile. You will have an AIESEC buddy who will support and guide through the whole process. Once you get accepted for an internship (=matched) you have to pay the matching fee.

4. Attend your internship!

5. Follow Up Seminar – AIESEC supports you in the readjustment process when you return home.
